Years ago when my house was full of a 6-year-old, a 4-year-old, a 2-year-old and a brand new baby, I would get a little frustrated and, in my distraction or sheer exhaustion, I would say, "I have had enough of this!" I would say it a lot. I didn't realize how often I used the phrase until one day when the daily chaos was reaching unholy levels. I mom-growled, "I have had..." and the then 6-year-old Megan finished sympathetically, "...enough of this?" I decided to rethink my catch phrase.

But here I am once again. I have had enough of this. I always use lack of time or lack of money or lack of the perfect idea as excuses to drag out finishing off this house. I am tired of just living here. I want to create and enjoy a great environment for me and my family. So...no excuses. It is time to change. I have had enough of this!

I am going to dedicate one year to updating my whole 33-year-old house. I have to stay within my budget and I have to make timely decisions. I am blogging about all my updates in order to have someone to report to...or maybe to have someone witness my demise at the blade of the scary table saw out in my garage. Hmm...that might be a story for a different blog. Anyway, enjoy the show because I don't know if I will. Did I mention I'm a reluctant DIYer?
